Our Vision Statement …we desire to worship God genuinely, to serve the church family by using the arts to provide opportunities to sincerely worship God. We believe that worship is characterized by daily surrender to Jesus and that worship is not just an event but a lifestyle.

Who gets involved with the CDA Worship Band ?

The people who are involved with the band attend Circle Drive Church on a regular basis.  They are gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church. They have a servant’s heart, ready and willing to serve where needed.  Band members serve primarily at the weekend services, but also may perform at other special events.

Do I have to be a member of Circle Drive Church to join?

You do not have to be a member in order to join.  However, by joining, it is our hope that you will decide to make the commitment to go through Membership Class this season, and officially join the CDA church family. We believe it is important for you to understand the purpose and vision of Circle Drive Church so that you can contribute to those goals by using your talents as part of the team!

Will I play every week?

No.  We try to be very conscious of your schedule.  We will create a schedule at the beginning of the season so that you are aware of your commitments right from the start. You are required to attend weekly rehearsals only if you are playing that Sunday. You are expected to be a regular attender at the Sunday service even if you are not playing.

How do the Worship Teams ‘work’?

We believe in the value and power of team. We currently have four bands and vocal teams. You will sing / play with the same team each time. Your team will play approximately once every three – four weeks.

In discussion with Wanda and the Service Planning Team, the band leader will be responsible for choosing and developing a worship set that supports the vision and goals of CDAC and the message of that particular service.

When are rehearsals and how long do they last?

Rehearsals are on Tuesdays @ 7pm.  They are currently held in the main auditorium where your audition will be held.

Rehearsals last approximately 2 ½  hours depending on what needs to be accomplished.  We usually put together 4-6 songs each week, so it takes some time to get everything just right.  You should know the music completely when you arrive for rehearsal. Your team will minister approximately once every three – four weeks. You will need to be at the rehearsal on the Tuesday evening prior to the Sunday you minister.. We will start promptly @ 7 o’clock and  you may not be allowed to sing on all the songs if you are not at the rehearsal in time to practice with the team.

What if I can’t be at rehearsal one week?

Only those who were at the rehearsal will perform on Sunday. Please let your team leader know as soon as possible if you are unable to be part of the team that week.

Will I know all the songs?

Occasionally your team may get together to learn new material before the Tuesday rehearsal. If your team leader schedules additional rehearsals you will also need to attend those. Times will be chosen with consideration given to all your busy schedules!

Music charts and Mp3’s will be available the week prior to your Tuesday rehearsal. You will be given a password to the CDAC music site – there you will be able to download your charts and mp3’s.  All vocal music must be memorized for the Tuesday rehearsal. Instrumentalists are allowed to use their printed band charts for rehearsals and the service.

What happens on Sunday?

Sunday morning begins bright and early, at 8 am for those in the Worship Arts Ministry!  You will need to be in the auditorium by 8 am if you are in the band, by 8:15 am if you are a vocalist.  You will be given a copy of the dress code for the stage by your team leader, and are expected to comply with those guidelines.
