What Makes God Smile [July 11, 2010]

Revelation 4:11 NLT “You (God) created everything, and it is for Your pleasure that they exist and were created!’

Psalm 149:4 GN “The Lord takes pleasure in His people.”

1 Timothy 4:6b-8a (Phillips) “Take time and trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit. Bodily fitness has a certain value, but spiritual fitness is essential both for this present life and for the life to come.”

1 Samuel 17:39 (AMP) 39 “And David girded his sword over his armor. Then he tried to go, but could not, for he was not used to it. And David said to Saul, I cannot go with these, for I am not used to them. And David took them off.”

God has made us each unique.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) “For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long”

 1.  BE WITH GOD EVERY DAY.

Psalms 25:4 (TLB) “Show me the path where I should go, O Lord; point out the right road for me to walk.”

  • What brings me life?
  • What is my temperment?

Luke 5:16 (TLB) “But he often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.”

  • What is my pathway?
  1. Naturalist – finds God in nature.
  2. Ascetic – is drawn to disciplines.
  3. Traditionalist – loves historical liturgies.
  4. Activist – comes alive spiritually in a great cause.
  5. Caregiver – meets God in service.
  6. Sensate – senses God through 5 senses.
  7. Enthusiast - grows through people.
  8. Contemplative – solitary reflection and prayer.
  9. Intellectual – loves God by learning.
  • What is my learning style?
  1. Visual – learn best by seeing
  2. Auditory – learn best by hearing
  3. Tactile – learn best by doing
  4. Oral – learn best by saying
  5. Social – learn best in groups
  6. Logical – learn best in linear processes
  7. Imaginative – learn best through art, story, images

 1Sam 17:37, “David said, The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and the Lord be with you!”
